I spent most of my 20s resenting my parents for how much they nagged me and criticized me and pushed me. Then I hit 30 and realized that their "revolvoing their life around me" was not because they were trying to be difficult - they were being parents. Parents care about their children and they show it through their interest in their children's life. You don't want them to be interested, move away and don't tell them where you are.

The OP will be the same person who will move away and cut off all contact with his parents. And then when his parents die, he (or she) will come back with their pockets empty and their hands out seeking alms from the estate. "I'm their child - I deserve a piece of the pie!"

i am so jealous. i dont have parents, they both died while i am still quite young.. i really wish you could see how lucky you are to have someone let alone 2 people love you that much!!! why not shine the spot light on them for a change? treat them....take them out for dinner or tea or for a walk on the seawall. turn the tables and be the adult. they will love it. its time for them to be spoiled. that is my envious and regretful........: ( 2 cents.
