I am sure you have your reasons for staying, but time is too precious to spend with people who don't inspire you to live life fully. Just remember that sacrificing time to someone else prevents you from spending that time on yourself!

I know how painful that is, especially if your boyfriend isn't a terrible guy. Two years ago I broke up with my boyfriend of 5 years and it took me about a year to build up the courage to do so. It was devastating (although after the breakup I oscillated between fear of being alone and absolute excitement about all the new possibilities) but now we are both in much happier places.
