Can't face another week

of working at my current job with some of the most shallow, superficial and boring people I think I have ever met. I've realized I've created a completely fake personality of my own that I bust out in order to have conversation and relate to my coworkers. Maybe that makes me a hypocrite. Either way, I can't wait to leave that place and never see another one of their dismal faces again or fein interest in a michael korrs watch or shade of lipstick to keep from seeming like an antisocial bitch. While I'm complaining, is it just me or are there tons of people in this city preoccupied with superficial things. Cheers to confessions and the greener pastures ahead.

Ain't that the sad truth...

Btw, anyone who *brags* about a Michael Kors watch doesn't know shit about watches. (Cheap piece of crap.) You're not wrong. I overheard a conversation on the loser cruiser (bus) between two young women who were both saving up a couple of thousand dollars to buy a fucking purse. They take the bus, but want the superficial status of owning a Louis Vuitton or Prada purse? Yup, they've got their priorities in order.

I'm glad it's not just me who has to endure that hell. I will think of you next time I am subjected to a ridiculous half-hour long conversation about a Victoria's Secret sale...and I'm a woman.

Ain't:
People that call public transit the "loser cruiser" are usually the same kinds of people who brag about their expensive belongings or properties or vacations.
So, what's your excuse?

I work with a boring superficial woman who is obsessed with what kind of car people drive or what trendy clothing they wear. In seven years I've never had a stimulating conversation with her. When she blabs about someone's Mercedes etc. I just want to scream "who cares!!!"
Ugh ... So shallow

I find comfort in fantasizing that decades from now in my old age, I'll look back on my life and the memories I'm most fond of won't be revolved around the material possessions I did or didn't aquire. I Imagine my memories revolving around the company I kept and experiences I had with those who were important to me. Matter of fact, I already know I don't regret the time spent without a fancy vehicle, razzle dazzle jewlery or the newest trends in fashion. But that's just me, and to each their own.

The bus isn't any less of a mode of transportation than anything else. Every watch tells the time. I think you get it, but you're coming across as a more privileged version of the people this post is in reference to.

I'm inclined to think that the OP is just as bad as the coworkers. You like being liked more by your peers than being your true self. Why don't you ask the difficult questions to talk about what you want? Why not talk about real world issues? What's wrong with you sparking up the conversation? Maybe they bring up the Michael Kors watch because they believe that's the only way they can relate to you.

Yeah, like, you know? I can't even....

Yup, I am a woman and I too haste that shit. I do like fashion and design, but people who define themselves by it drive me nuts. I once had a co-worker describe her personality at a team building workshop by likening herself to her Mazda 3. I buy designer clothes with no labels and take Canada Line. Those dumb bitches think I am poor because my bag, shoes, etc. are not covered with hardware and I don't get manicures. Whatever. They will land some tool and get knocked up. Great life ambitions.

"usually the same kinds of people"

You're not stereotyping now, right?

More like monotyping. The truth is in the telling, not the parsing.
