I have no friends

I have no best friends. I don't even think I have friends. People I consider acquaintances, sure, but no one I can truly count on - not even family - which makes me sad.

Honestly ...

Jul 23, 2014 at 11:44am

it seems to be a BC thing, Before I moved here i had friends, lovers, a social group and people I didn't know said hi anyways just because.

When I smile at people here it feels like they are forcing a smile back, if it even comes or they seem so uptight like I asked them a rude question.

I suggest moving away. I decided to pack it up and sell off the gear, I feel good and can't wait to leave.

Alberta is great , Toronto just turned into Vancouver so pass on that , Montreal is number 1 in Canada for friendly people and the maritimes are a blast.

West coast is all toast no jam.

It's not your fault

It's Vancouver. I worked on a movie and at the wrap party, one of the producers got up to make a speech. He said he was disappointed that in the entire time they'd been here (from L.A.) not one person invited them to their home for drinks or dinner or to sit by the pool - nothing. There was dead silence. So before anyone posts that Vancouver is what you make of it or some such crap, don't bother.

you have to be rich

to live here and therefore a snob and only interested in other rich people. If you are not rich, you have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet so don't have energy or time for socializing.

True story

Jul 23, 2014 at 3:29pm

Its like 1 in every 3 persons is lonely here.trapped in their loneliness feeling helpless waiting for a miracle so things would finally change. No matter how much u chase it things will happen when they're suppose to happen. Try not thinking about fitting in and spend more time on bettering urself. It will make u happy and then people will be attracted to u and would wanna be with u.good things happen when u feel good inside. Good luck on becoming more awesome <3

I want in! You know, Facebook has done this to people. They think they are connected but really there are no true friendships because the bonds are never maintained. It is sad.

@Hey, OP and the one above

I'm in too!

The only good thing about this is increased self reliance.

Let's all not be sad together!

Hey. (Again)

Wow, didn't realise people were actually interested. :) This is a good thing. Any ideas on what to do and where we can conduct the planning? Spamming this confession, I feel, is kind of disrespectful.

Oh, on topic, hang in there, everyone.

i think if you are a high school student or in university it may be better for making friendships. But later on, if you have not made real concrete friendships out of those, you are screwed. It feels like passing ships in the fog...nobody really seems to bond or give a shit too much for another. Not many appreciate or value real true important aspects of a friendship (honesty, kindness, compassion, caring, affection, etc). The worst is when late september-october roll around with the long dark rainy nights where most are indoors watching tv or cuddled up with their laptop making false friends on facebook or some other social media douchebag site. Yep....9 months of isolation , then 3 months of possible decent weather with festivles , food trucks and fake smiles.
