DUI/BUI... are we back in the 70's?

When the GS can run "Best Reason to get Plowed and Pedal" and write, "As long as you're wearing a helmet, no one except your local paramedic is going to judge you for pedaling around the city four sheets to the wind", I think I'm back living in the 70's/80's. WTF? Holy shitballs... you could kill yourself, cause a vehicle accident, smash a pedestrian... why am I even stating such obvious things. ... but I confess, in the 70's/80's it was a-ok to just pay extra special attention and stick to the back roads when you had to drive home drunk. Right?

I recall a MADD (US) over twenty years ago saying you should be charged for having alcohol in your system even if it comes from a coughdrop (cough candy) It may have been 60 minutes or one of the Talk shows; I do recall the interviewer was male...come to think of it; it may have been Phil Donohue.

You weren't even alive back then; what would you know about how society was like?

and I cycle in vancouver. and I weigh over 200lbs. and I'm a man. and if I was bombed while riding I could easily injure somebody like just happened in NYC where a cyclist slammed a woman who is now brain dead. or I could miss a stop sign or whatever... same as driving my car you freaking idiot.

You people seem to think we all did that- and you're wrong. DID people do that? Yes. Your absolutism is just plain narrow minded.

My parents took turns when they went out; if one had a few drinks- the other did not; and drove home. If they both did; we slept over- and that was in the 1970's and 80's.

nobody thinks we all did that... the point is the excuse is somewhat parallel to that type of thinking. you should stick to the slow lane and walking... seems about right for you.
