Get over it.

I've decided to move on when I'm damn good and ready. Not when my friends and family tell me to (which was weeks ago), not when dating experts tell me to, but when my head and heart tell me to. That might be in a month or that might be in a year. So to those of you that keep telling me to get under someone new to get over my ex, thanks for the brilliant advice but I'll stick to my own way of doing things.

Not sure about that. I've been where you are; most people have i suppose.

Those around you can often see things from a different angle and they aren't so emotionally tangled up....

I think getting under someone is quite good advice even if you don't believe it.

I agree with you

The get under/over advice is idiotic. What, so you can bring all the baggage of the past into the future? Dumb!
You can't simply ignore feelings or behaviours and hope they just work themselves out.
You are doing the right thing for your long term happiness.
Good luck :)

Yeah you rock! In tune to your true feelings and not all weak minded and needing to FOLLOW advice from others. Mainstream groupthink is fucking ridiculous!!

You have to heal

before you can move on. Otherwise you approach a new relationship as a wounded person and it won't flow naturally. Of course, it's so hard to date here that it will probably take awhile even then.

Everyone's an 'expert'

Btw, what is a *relationship expert*?? Seems to me everywhere I look, there's an expert trying to advise me on whatever issue they specialize in. I'm starting to think relationship experts are just people who've had a crap load of relationships.
