The most beautiful place to be miserable

I'm starting to wonder, if I can't be happy in one of the most desirable, and livable places on the planet, then maybe there is something seriously wrong with me :(

Vancouver is a hard place to crack, at least, meet people. Try Victoria!

Where, Vancouver?

Vancouver is not livable. The climate is the best feature, at least when it is raining the air is pretty clean, tho even that will be destroyed by the influx of cars---Vancouver was quite livable in the mid 1980s. Since then it has been downhill.

Before you blame yourself, try the Island, try somewhere outside of the lower mainland.

Happiness is work and it requires that you create it yourself.

Why do you CHOOSE to be unhappy. Are you expecting that happiness has something to do with your environment. Happiness has everything to do with your mind. Read "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankel. He lived in a Nazi death camp, yet he chose to be happy. Is your life worse than a Nazi death camp? The only tool we have for changing is in the choices we make. Don't blame others for your choices.

Agreed with To an Extent and Blahh. Happiness is a choice. There's a quote I'm thinking of that goes something like, "Wherever you are, there you are." Basically, you can go to the best places in the world (including Vancouver) but you'll still be you. Be happy with yourself and who you are, and you'll be happy wherever your feet take you. Expect happiness to come from outside and you'll never be happy anywhere.

It's not you, it's this city. It's desirable as a place to invest in property (if you're an investor), and it's livable in that there are green parks for you to set up camp in, and occasional public washrooms for you to get cleaned up in.

What does

Livable mean? This city has turned into busy hectic sprawling city reminiscent of typical Asian cities in the east. If not for the spectacular natural scenery Vancouver would have litte to offer. High taxes, lack of a unilateral identity, Lack of social trust typical of cities with huge influxes of immigrants, and shitty weather for most of the year, it is a soulless city. I recommend Victoria too.

People in a Nazi Death Camp knew the allies were coming. Whither the Allies?
