Sorry!

So I wrote a confession a while back about how I thought Vancouver was a 'fake, wannabe, try-hard' city....well I'd like to apologize and take it back. I went home to L.A. last week after 11 months and found that I was beyond ecstatic to come back to Vancouver. The people are NICE here, have manners, and treat each other kindly. It's true...you never know what you have till it's gone. I can't say how many times people ask...why would you ever move to Vancouver from L.A.? Well...long story short, Canadians are freakin' AWESOME, and Vancouver is BEAUTIFUL. There is no comparison. Have a great day!

Why , didnt you like the almost daily sunshine in SoCal ?
Or did it seem like it was raining bullets from hearing about the local news down there.
Yes , I too have ranted and raved about the cold unfriendly ,superficial people in Vancouver , which too many people here are. Or how political activism here usually doesnt go beyond blaming immigrants while sharing food and drink with close confidants.
So whether or not the OP's rant is from Tourism Vancouver , I do not know. But it does put things in proper perspective that these are first world problems and I should be more grateful for what we have even if its not perfect.
I mean hey , at least Im not in some sharia shithole muslim country.
So with a dry grin I shall call Vancouver home. Until I move to Montreal.

I've always said that Vancouver suffers from little sister syndrome: we know we want to be something, but we're not sure what yet. Do we want to be eco-friendly and green? Do we want to be glitz and glam? Do we want to be easy-going and approachable? How about intelligent and political? We can be any of these things, but we can't be all of them. Eventually, the city's natural identity will emerge, but not without its growing pains.
