...like the game would be improved if the violence was toned down. Maybe it's more about the art of skating? Could the players on opposing teams all just cooperate towards getting the puck on goal? When there is a dispute, the game could stop and the players could talk about the problem using non-confrontational words. More hugging, less mugging. Namaste.

I think live games are meant for rich people, and the rest of us Canadians are supposed to watch it on TV and spend money on beer in bars. At least that's how it seems like the Big Wigs want it to be...

I am also unreasonably overjoyed to read this confession. :-)
I get so sick of sports, sports, sports everywhere, especially Hockey. Every restaurant has a giant screen playing sports all day long now too.
Interestingly, (no one ever believes me when I bring out this fact), only 40-45% of humans actually like sports. According to the media we ALL LOVE IT. But it isn't true, the majority of people don't give a rat's behind about hockey or whatever.
