I voted "NO" today on my Vancouver Transportation and Transit Plebiscite. I think it's the right decision.

Dan offers some advice on where she might find it.
We both abruptly stopped on the corner of W Hastings/Cambie near the park and seamlessly started...

A report said the other day that Public Sector workers make $8500.00 a year more than the rest of us....I'm sick of it!

No, no and no.
Manage the taxes they have better before asking for more.

This "mail in ballot" was just the wrong approach. No one wants congestion, less public transit etc. It would have been prudent had the mayors' council gone to the public and asked for ideas on how to raise the funds. Then presented the best of those ideas to the province. Engagement is a key part of democracy, but so is having choices.
Already voted NO...

A tax raise for the rest of our lives for shit that should've been done years ago? Unbelievable how we let these monkeys run our city...
You've been warned

I hope you are as convinced when they have to raise transit fees. Too bad you suffer from short-sightedness.

Oh. That is supposed to be some sort of doom and gloom warning? Imagine, the people using a service having to pay to use it. I am not saying that public transit does not deserve public funds because it does. What I am saying is that these blanket approaches to everyone paying more through taxes need to come to an end until the overseers of these public funds prove they have the competence to manage their way our of a wet-paper bag. NO! No more taxes for a broken system.
Already paying

It burns me!

There's one thing in particular that I can't forget in all this - the shockingly stupid, irresponsible decision to go without fare gates in the first place! Then hire transit police, and at a huge expense?!
I was incredulous when this was announced years ago and now, of course, millions and millions have been lost. It makes my brain hurt. No.
