It is hell

to have a partner who hunts and pecks at mistakes. I am beginning to hate myself extrordinarily.

Constant fault-finding and criticism is a form of psychological abuse, it's purpose is to dominate and control the other person. You're with an abuser.

Time to find a new partner.

Even being alone is better than being the target of abuse.

Bruce is right. This may not be what you thought abuse looks like, and you may disagree right now, but I assure you that you are being abused. I'm unaware of your age, but take a look at this modified version of the power & control wheel. It does a great job of illustrating abuse in an easy to understand way. http://womenslawreports.blogspot.ca/2009/06/teen-power-and-control-wheel...

@BeenThere

That's a gendered source; unlike other forms, psychological abuse is carried out by women and men roughly equally, with similar motives and effects.

Regardless, unless you have kids, get out. If you do have kids, don't leave without them, or he/she will probably turn their baleful eye on them after you're gone.

They peck at you because you let them. Grow a spine and tell them you don't need them and their unique brand of humor anymore.

Did the same to me regularly, and I can tell you it wasn't for my own good. Someone who cares for you wouldn't cause you to feel this way.
