Too old for this

I'm 30 years old and bulimic since childhood. I just can't get better. I've tried so hard... wtf is wrong with me?

Hey there! I'm older than you and still on/off dealing with disordered eating. fortunately, it never gets too bad anymore, I'm better at asking for help when/if I need it. Anxiety, depression, ED ... All the same, they're illnesses no need to feel EXTRA bad about things. Do what you can and be nice to yourself. There's a ton of resources! All the best!

you have a disease and need help.
the long term effects of bulimia are rotting teeth, gastric problems and maybe death.
you are caught in a cycle of blame, this accelerates the eating disorder.
go to a dr. asap and get a referral to those who can treat eating disorders.
this is NOT your fault.

35 and bulimic since 14. And if you are like me, you feel like you've tried everything. I know how hopeless it feels. But we have to keep trying.

alternative forms of therapy, such as sex therapy, marijuana and other ways to open your mind and find different forms of stress relief or body acceptance can be helpful.

you are not the reason you are bulimic. if you recognize that you need help, you are half way there :) there are community resources available, private counseling, support groups - you are not alone :) the unfortunate stigma of mental illness prevents many to ignore obvious symptoms that their loved ones are experiencing, but just as you cannot wish away diabetes or cancer, you cannot cure yourself from a mental illness on your own. sending good vibes :)

I currently treat eating disorders and put the 10 years of work into a short program for this. Feel free to contact me via unlockyourlife.ca. There is always hope!
