Just Another Shitty Manager

My manager is so useless. She: - does next to nothing during her shifts leaving all the work for the rest of us and takes all the credit -openly makes racist comments to anyone who will listen -is desperately single and complains about how pathetic her dating life is, when every week she picks up some new douche ten years her junior from tinder and can't figure out what she's doing wrong -treats anyone she doesn't consider physically attractive like an untouchable -is incredibly unprofessional in front of clients For a while I just told myself to work hard and keep my head down and one day it will show and I would take her job. Lately though, I've been feeling so disenchanted with the business. If the owner allows such an incompetent person to run the show I'm not sure I want to work there anymore. I hate that she turned a job I live into something I dread.

There's a lot of these high school mindset types out there, male and female, still clinging to superficial standards and just being plain scummy people . Two faced people are dangerous, get out while you can...IT WILL NEVER IMPROVE

Toe her in the fud and move on, pal. Plenty more jobs out there, and you shouldn't be wasting your short and precious time on this beautiful planet on something that makes you unhappy.

She sounds like a poor manager (rascism is never excusable), but maybe also you are bringing her down.

Being a manager is a tough job. Managing someone who is disrespectful to you and trying to take your job is 100x harder.

"Toe her in the fud"?

Let me guess. You're one of those guys who think FHRITP is fucking hilarious.

Why does this go on?

If the bad manager is at the top of the hierarchy, that's harder. Can you take a grievance to someone above? In larger places of employment, there are usually procedures, especially in union/government/corporate environments. If it's a franchise operation, take it to the company. If this person is the sole owner of a private business, express yourself to her directly. If no response after given the chance, social media!! :)

On the Coast- it's all about who you know- forget it- she is protected- and most likely the people above her in the chain-of-command are (according to the JANUS Principle) worse. It's up to you; but start looking elsewhere; I wish you luck.
