Lump in the road
posted May 28th, 2015 at 11:59 AM
I'm probably going to lose a new job because of health issues.. I've been so stressed out about this big lump in my breast. I was at the hospital yesterday getting checked out and have to have to go back for tests. I guess I just wasn't really thinking ( or thinking too much ) and set my clock wrong last night. The alarm never went off... I was supposed to go in for training today. There's family issues going on in my life too which have also been stressing me out so sometimes I can't even sleep. I was so excited about this job. I really need the money to be able to pay my rent and I'm feeling like I screwed up. Note to self: Learn how to set a clock.

If it turns out to be cancer -instead of going straight to chemo & radiation therapy, check out: Phoenix Tears.
It is a type of cannabis oil that has cured various types of cancer in many, many people.
I've known people who've had chemo therapy and it ended up permanently screwing up their endocrine system. Plus they had to struggle with their weight for the rest of their lives.
Even if the lump is benign, the oil will help get rid of it.
I have PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome) and ever since I've been consuming the oil on a regular basis, I haven't had a cyst in over 2 years.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this right now. I completely understand how stressful this can be - going for medical tests can really throw off your schedule and general sense of balance. Any reasonable employer will have this understanding as well.
Stay strong, lady. Take things one day at a time, or even just one minute at a time.
Also, anyone who tells you to avoid conventional treatments is a nut job! You haven't even been diagnosed! The preceding commenter is offering very biased ignorant pseudoscience.
Don't get me wrong, as I'm all for complementary therapies, however breast cancer (if it indeed turns out to be the case for you) is very survivable using current medical treatments. I'm a survivor myself, having used both the typical chemo and surgeries, and some complementary treatments as adjunctive therapy, and I'm celebrating 10 years cancer free this year! Had I listened to very ignorant advice when I made my treatment choices 10 years ago (ie: the other commenter mentions knowing people who had screwed up endocrine system and weight struggle afterwards - really??) I would not be alive today. I do not have endocrine dysfunction nor weight issues, in fact I am so much healthier after the cancer and chemo than I was before. Until a person undergoes the battle and has made the choices themselves, or studies for 12+ years to specialize as an oncologist, no one has any right to offer advice based on idiotic hear-say and pseudoscience.
In closing this rant, I would like to apologize for the total ignorance of the preceding commenter. Whoever they are should be ashamed of giving unsolicited and shoddy medical advice without any applicable qualifications.

And I would like to apologize for the rant of the obviously ignorant 2nd commenter.
S/he is obviously someone who hasn't done the research about Phoenix Tears (Google!) and is, obviously from their rant, anti-cannabis.
Please don't let someone anti-cannabis stance prevent you from at least doing the research and finding that IT IS saving lives w/o any negative lasting effects.
And here are just a few links of PROFESSIONALS explaining why they changed their stance on cannabis and how it kills cancer.
I wish I could include more, but duty calls.
All the best

I just wanted to say that your health and well being are more important than any job. And it was a small mistake. We've all done it at one time or another. You don't want to work for anyone who can't understand that anyway. Take good care of yourself.

Tell your employer that you are dealing with a potentially serious medical issue. Explain that you are under a lot of stress but that you want this job. Tell them you are asking for them to accommodate your needs while you go through this and be very clear in what you need: time off for appointments, etc. The Employer has a duty to accommodate a medical disability and cancer is a disability. Hopefully you will get the all clear. You are going to be bombarded with people's well meaning advise about your treatment choices....don't let it overwhelm you and trust yourself.
Listen to your doctor.

If it turns out to be serious, get professional treatment and ignore the advice from some internet stoner. If there really were a simple cure, the world would know about it very quickly.
I was surprised, op might be on to something...

Even a quick search of Pubmed using cannabis + cancer turns up some interesting research. It seems that cannabinoids have properties that help induce cancer cell death. Here's one example. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25916739

Wow are you ever naïve!
admin, do your job!

I think the admin at the straight should prohibit medical advice being given and I think it goes without saying that you shouldn't get your medical advice from the internet or people who comment on confessions.
Talk to your doctor, do your research (both on conventional and alternative therapies) and then make informed decisions. There is a wealth of literature on cannabis use and cancer but it's inconsistent and the mechanisms and outcomes poorly understood.
Breast lumps are more often than not benign and in the case of breast cancer, the treatment and the recovery is usually positive. As to the rest of it, it sounds like you need to manage the stress in your life and you should discuss this with your manager. If you don't highlight the problems you're having, missed time/deadlines may be viewed in an unnecessarily negative light.
I hope it all works out for you.

First off, I hope you don't have cancer. I too had discovered a lump in my chest a couple of years ago (I'm a male and it wasn't breast cancer), but there was a tumour in my chest. I had to leave work without any notice to begin chemotherapy immediately. I ended up taking a year off of work doing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. And as of now my cancer has still not returned.
I was very lucky that my work was very understanding, and once I felt well enough to work again I was able to return to the office as if nothing had happened. I hope your employer will be just as understanding and supportive.
Trust me, you don't have to go through this alone. The social workers at the Cancer Agency are there to help you and to talk to. They can help you work through whatever challenges you face.
Before everyone bashes the second post, I used Phoenix Tears Oil. It has it's benefits, but I would under no circumstances forgo chemotherapy or radiation and put all of my cards on Phoenix Tears. What medicinal marijuana has helped me the most with was nausea and pain. Who knows if it actually cures cancer... But if, heaven forbid, you ever do have to go through chemotherapy, ask your doctor for nabilone. It is a synthetic marijuana and comes in a pill form. It was literally the only medication that helped my nausea.
I am hopeful that you will be okay and this is just a scare. But if not I am sending you nothing but strength and positive energy your way.
