What's Inside

I have made peace with the fact that, no matter how attracted that I am to them, I'll never be with one of "those" types of guys because I don't dress like one of "those" types of girls.

Dan offers some advice on where she might find it.
You sat across the bar from me. I looked up and we caught each other's eye and both smiled....

Was on a terrible date with one of those guys last night. It isn't fun.
Care to enlighten those of us...

...who have no idea who 'those' type of guys are?

Doesn't matter what type of guy you go out with in this city. They rarely offer to buy your coffee on the first date and still expect you to laugh at their jokes/ be enthralled with their boring lives.

See? That's where you are wrong. I am old school and believe that a first date is dinner and not coffee as a prelude to a hookup. What's more, I would much rather hear about you than talk about myself.
Appearances

Appearances are appearances
Why don't you look alittle deeper inside the mind.
Example : Just compare the appearances of tattoos in the 50s to now. Same appearance but completely different men behind that appearance in the 50s compared to now

In the 50s it was sailors and criminals, and now there are no more sailors?

In the 50's it was sailors, criminals and biker gangs.
Today its Biebers, sheep and adult children who's tattoos are paid by their parents.

There's a bit more to this confession than people assume. First off, my apologies for trolling you guys - everybody seems to quick to jump on the boat to either scorn or praise women and men, I reversed my sex because I believe that the road should go both ways regardless of which you are.
I'll let you know that I'm actually a guy and "those" girls in question are goth/rocker/hipster women, not the usual Yaletown girl. Because I simply wear jeans, tshirt, hoodie, practical shoes and short hair, those counter-culture types will never even speak to me, regardless of how many skinny puppy shows I saw in the 90s, drugs I did in the 90s, loud guitar I play, desire for a pouty Robert Smith doll, or tattoos under my clothes I have.
You know what

you attract what you put out there! I totally agree with you about how a lot of guys won't date certain types of girls.. I'm not very high maintenance some guys love it some guys don't.. But it's about knowing how to put your best self together.. And again you what you put out you get back.. Dating is rough yeah you meet shit people along the way.. Things fail but remember they don't all start that way.. I have met some great guys that just aren't for me or are crazy or maybe I am lol and I'm not an online dater either.. There are lots of those types of guys that like girls that look the same the next morning or who can chill etc! People need to relax and let it come to them as it does! You might be pleasantly surprised.. When you stop trying so hard how things turn around..
