Gay Pride

so happy that gay marriage is now legal in 50 states...but then I started thinking why does the goverment get to decide what is legal..what we can and cannot do? personaly I will not get married through the eyes of the law.

Gay marriage, minority rights, etc. are basically a way for our neofascist governments to generate more consent as the Internet makes people increasingly literate. Most people don't need an oppressive monopolistic government; they need a public Court system that has a monopoly on force, and statutes, etc. are by voluntary consent of people who join mutual societies.

In the future, one of the big justifications for government will be protecting minorities from the majority---just like a big excuse for government historically was protecting the nobility (minority) from the majority.

The lyrics change; the evil tune remains the same.

All the gay marriage means now is that gays and lesbians can be as miserable as the rest of us.

"the Internet makes people increasingly literate."

I'm interested in this "Internet" that makes people more literate.

It sure isn't the "Internet" that I am familiar with and use for 10+ hours daily. On my "Internet", there are certainly literate people -- I seek them out. But then again, ... if YouTube commenters are more literate due to the Internet, well, I find that a frightening thought.

Well, whether or not you are literate depends on how you understand words. For example, do you understand that subjection to the commands of any other body, whether corporate or sole, is called "slavery"? Or do you ratiocinate about how "it's not slavery when I'm being enslaved by a national railroad company!!!" That's what I mean by literacy. Think about the Internet as a way to clone John Lilburne. If you don't know who he was, look him up. He was one of the fathers of the Internet.
