Love Vancouver, Not the People

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities around for sure, too bad its full of pathetic, self absorbed douchebags. Bunch of yoga posing, whole foods shopping, non gluten eating losers. When the the next extinction phase really starts I hope it begins in Vancouver. Do the world a favour and don't travel anywhere, just stay where you are.

This again.

From a true, multi-generation Vancouverite who for his whole life has seen people come for the wrong reasons, get bitter for whatever, and leave in a huff:

*Yawn*

...and it also seems to attract the most unimaginative, hostile, negative, barely-literate morons, too. A pity.

Totally right, Vancouverites have chosen greed and money over hapiness....
Even though there's at least 3 girls to 1 guy they act as if they had the choice, then complain about being single.
1 month ago a 2 times miss Hawaii winner 22 years old wanted to date me and here whenever you look towards a girl you get their stupid, stupid game playing, attention seeking attitude.
Playing hard to get will only get you a insecure douchebag.
Ladies if you want a confident man, stop looking at show offs it's a facade, just like your snobism.

If you're speaking from the perspective of a tourist...I recommend you travel a LOT more before comparing the people of Vancouver to whatever hometown you came from. Having just come back from several weeks of travel throughout Europe, and having travelled to all but one continent of this beautiful planet to date, I personally disagree with your comments. Can you find the Yogi-GlFree-etc characters you're describing in Vancouver - absolutely! But if you educate yourself on the demographic that populate this gorgeous city - and, more imporantly, the "reasons" people relocate (yes, we are all immigrants and/or refugees from abroad) to this young country, you would know that there IS a shared common love of the healthy lifestyle this kind of climate and geography, naturally fosters and supports (hence, the health nuts you describe and loathe...I can only assume because you aren't one)
If your perspective is that of an inhabitant/resident of Vancouver, might I suggest you join some MeetUp groups involving hobbies you DO enjoy...so you can actually meet, connect with and enjoy passtimes and passions with likeminded individuals?
Life tends to be more fullfilling when you focus your time, energy and attention on things you love, ....when you do, you're actually happy, which doensn't leave much space for loathing others who simply enjoy/love passtimes/hobbies and maybe even "lifestyles" you don't.
Food for though...peace be with you.

Although I do eat gluten, I gotta tell ya I always feel a bunch better after eating a gluten free meal. I also feel better after a good yoga session once in a blue moon. And who doesn't love whole foods? Sure, I cat afford it half the time but my body loves me a lot more after nourishing it with the fine quality products I know I'm getting for my buck.

You're shitting all over Vancouverites for the most ridiculous things right now. Taking care of their health by eating non gluten having foods and practicing yoga?

Get a life, okay? Your bitterness seems exhausting.

The above poster is obviously lacking in friends and/or hanging out with people with different tastes than he/she. Not everybody in the lower mainland does yoga and buys organic food, the majority of people here are not into yoga & organic food.

Blame it on smartphones. Everyone is tuned IN to their phone and tuned OUT to everything else around them

Cream versus milk...

The few people here who are great...
are stunningly so. I have some amazing friends...
they were/are easy to spot in this town.

So dust off your attitude, bask in your surroundings and if you are cream you know it rises to the top.
You'll also be able to recognize your own kind...
(please not another self loathing Vancouverite;)...
Let them reveal themselves and find your like minded people.
Douche bags are everywhere...
