Maybe I t's an extension of 'manspreading' - they think they have a right to more space than you. Or they're just jerks and it has nothing to do with them being men. Who knows. Don't let people push you around - regardless of their gender.

Some 'men' (usually short wussy types) always spread their legs far apart when sitting on the bus/train, thus extending beyond their seat and into my personal space. Why is this? Makes me want to kick them in the sack, but they would probably enjoy that due to lack of contact.

I work in the service industry, most men are ignorant assholes. I deal with every kind the best are most dad's with young children and the aware hippy type, the worst are flashy albertians and groups of golfers. No wonder so many women have a hard time finding the right guy.
