99 Problems...?

No, just one. You come to my place, drink my good scotch and tell me you that you have exposed me to herpes. You didn't tell me before we got involved. Wow. Not very ethical. So I do a Google "safe search" and I am even more pissed off. "Skin to skin" contact is all that was/is needed to be exposed to the VIRUS. Those condoms are not a barrier, not to mention the skin to skin oral sex. Wow. You said "I understand if you don't want to see me again..." Don't want to see you again? I want you to spontaneously incinerate. Since I was not told of your condition I did not make informed consent. A person of your age and supposed ethics, healthy life style ? I have 3 months of testing ahead of me for a 70% accuracy after those 3 months... so what do I do during that time? I get to tell my potential romantic partners that I may have been exposed to herpes? Wow. Seriously: Fuck you. Talk to me of kids and love? You're a horrible human being. Take your yoga, your Grouse Grind, your blood donations and shove them up your asshole until it stimulates your ethics.

Times like this is when I find comfort in the belief that karma will eventually catch up with these people

probably already had herpes......now you have to admit it. People can carry the virus for years and not know it. If you test positive, it could be from someone else at some other time.....now you have someone else to blame if you do.

I like how you're almost trying to justify this dude's actions by saying "oh don't worry, you probably already had it all along". The post isn't just about the fact that she may or may not have herpes. The point of it is that her "loving" partner has turned out to be a hypocritical, lying, careless douchebag.

That's not even close to a real statistic.

The OP...

I haven't tested positive. The liar and I used protection except for the oral sex. However the oral sex and just hip to hip contact is enough... I have never had anything in my life, nary a cold sore.

To Food for Thought, I was tested right before starting this relationship, as part of being a decent human being with good sexual ethics. Blame? Fuck off.

To Ummm... yeah? Where did you get your facts for that opinion?

The point is that people need to be fucking honest, fucking and honest!
This isn't just my potential health, it's others and my would-be children. It's a VIRUS for fucks sake, not something some antibiotics and some lotion can get rid of.

It's also something to keep in mind when using condoms... thinking they were enough, because they are not. So what now? Latex body stocking and hermetically sealed junk?

It is nearly criminal to expose someone to this with knowledge. I did not consent to this. If I was informed prior to sexual contact I would have made different decisions. I have great hope that nothing comes of this but a great wake up call.

herpes is super common

The other commenters arent justifying your partner's supposed deceit, its the truth! nearly everyone who is sexually active has been exposed to it at some point. Most Sex clinics ive visited dont seem concerned about screening men for it because it is so prevalent. My former lover dropped the bomb on me after we were no longer together and i felt this same searing anger upon finding out, so I get it, but really, dont sweat it its not that big of a deal

Are you kidding me!?

Dude / gal is unbelievable. Can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. You want to socialize with humans, you deal with shit like this. Don't like it, go live in a forest and be a monk.

Not kidding.

If that kitchen has herpes, I'm staying out of it.

Sue him or go to police. He can potentially be charged with sexual abuse. At least talk to a lawyer and ask for advice. He had no right keeping this important information from you! Every commenter who's trying to minimize your damages or somehow justify his actions is probably just as much of an a******* as that man. You can also while waiting for results in the meantime talk to a GP and research what anti viral drugs are there. Maybe if you take them, it may prevent the virus from developing. A preemptive measure of some sort. By the way, did you ask him to show his bill of health from the lab before the start of the intimate relations?
