I chose the single life...

...and it ain't getting boring! I've been like this for years and years, and to put it bluntly, it suits me fine because I've been a loner my entire life anyways. As long as I have my cats, books, access to airplane tickets to random destinations for undefined periods of time, and both a career and hobbies galore that keep me occupied and learning, then seriously, being single (and a cloistered hermit) is grand. It's like having a more well-rounded extension on the way my life's been forever. Yes I've had girlfriends/lovers on the side once in a blue moon, but still I don't think I would give my independence up for even the largest sum of money on Earth. Others should seriously follow suit if they've been pondering it...

Why anyone would choose to share their life with someone else is beyond me. Give me freedom, solitude, and independence.
I agree...

Sharing absolutely everything through wedlock is all very 'bible' and bronze-aged hyperbole.
