I Don't Want To
posted July 7th, 2015 at 7:14 PM
My boyfriend dumped me and now I am single and alone.
My entire life revolved around his. My friends told me he was a loser but I just don't want to be alone. I don't want to go to weddings and social functions alone. Its really depressing to see people your age getting married and having kids and I hate when people ask me if your seeing anyone and then they pity you. I cooked, cleaned, ironed, did laundry, and paid all the bills and it still wasn't enough.
I am 32 and single and the thought of going into the dating pool again is scary.

You sound like an awesome girlfriend, you'll do fine.
I've heard there are some good single people in this town somewhere.
We all make the mistake in thinking the sun shone out of our ex's arse, when in fact, they were just douche bags.
Next time you'll do better and make sure you devote some of your life to your own self.
You know...

Some of what you mention is your conditioning or 'brainwashing' if you will, during your childhood, that's all. Getting married and having children is something most of us do, simply because we as a society don't know what else to do. Everyone is a copy of a copy.
Being single and young, is a very cool thing. Use this opportunity to enjoy your freedom. Do well at work, exercise, hit golf balls the local driving range. People tied to a spouse or child don't have the freedom you do.
