Oh, Canada.

Honestly, I have no idea where I'm going with my life. Can the talent / purpose fairy swoop down and blast me with some magic already? I woke up with the biggest fucking cold sore you've ever seen in your life. My lip literally split into 2 pairs of lips and I had a job interview. I didn't go. I could have gone but I think it's best I didn't as this Quasimodo looked a little contageous. I tore my room apart looking for coldsore cream and now I'm laying in the middle of the mess on the floor wondering what's next... I seriously just want to pack a bag and go. Hit the highway and experience the humour God or whoever throws my way. Even if I didn't have this giant herpa derp on my face life is still shitty.... but then I realize I live in Canada and open my gratitude journal.

Thanks for the morning laughs! (I am sorry for your present 'state' btw) This person thinks you should seriously consider writing for a living! Erma Bombeck is long gone :( methinks you could just be the next coming!

You're funny, so you have that going for you at least. I'm in the same boat as you though (minus the cold sore)…so I understand how you feel. I just work in a cafe, and still have no real direction. Which sometimes gets me down, but then other times I realize that it's okay. We generally put too much pressure on ourselves to "be somebody"…whatever that even means. Can't we just be decent human beings? Isn't that enough? And I feel like as much as some other people appear to have their lives in order…most actually feel the same way as you and I. Most of us don't know what the fuck we're doing. And that's okay (or at least it should be).

we all feel the same a lot of the time

Unfortunately, no fairy is gonna swoop down and sprinkle magic on you. That's for fairy tales and wishful thinking. Finding your path in life takes exploration and insight and when you decide what it is you want, it then takes serious work and dedication. Hitting the highway is actually a good idea if you have the means, travelling is a great way to determine what you want.

The above poster is correct as well - it's ok to just live your life and not know where you are going. We all feel this way, at least some of the time. It's enough to be a decent human being, in fact this should be everyone's goal. It doesn't sound like the status quo is what is working for you right now though. For many, and myself included, passionately pursuing goals (not limited to work btw) i what gets them out of bed every morning. I hope you find what you are looking for and are able to pursue it with all your heart :)
