Rude Customers

Have you ever felt ignored by your bartender? You're waving and saying "HEY!" or even clapping and they still don't come over? Yeah, that's on purpose. Shut up, arms by your side and smile, you'll be next. If you tip, we remember, and you'll be first.

Yes!! The screaming and yelling , whining, high-pitched headache promoting (seriously) customers are always served last. You guys have NO idea what we put up with, we EARN our money...I promise you.

Have you ever watched a customer walk out?

Never to return? Yeah, that's on purpose.

Look around the area you are serving regularily, especially if the bar or resturaunt is loud, making a polite "excuse me" inaudible.

Smile. Make eye contact. If you see someone trying to get your attention, let them know you see them and that you will get to them as soon as you can. If the customer has to resort to waving or clapping their hands it may be an indication that they feel ignored and that is not desirable in a service industry.

Stand at the bar chatting with your co-workers while our beer gets warm and you might not get a tip. Walk by looking straight ahead avoiding eye contact all night and you will never see us again.

I think you may have a slightly over-inflated view of yourself

I mean really, you're a bartender

So true...

...in so many service industries. If rude, arrogant, pushy, overly demanding customers of any business realized how often they are denied what they want just on pure principle they would do a 180 on their approach to a customer service representative.

I'm also of the belief that the world would be a far better place if everyone had to spend one year of their lives serving the needs of the public in a front line customer service job. It's a tough gig and the ones that do it well should be treated like gold by their employers.

Has some very rude wait staff. Don't get into any area where you must deal with the public if you have such a rotten attitude. (Especially bars; the patrons are drunk, what did you expect? 4 crissakes) Every place is the same here, the head doofus - insists on playing their favored music, even when paying customers put money into the jukebox. They have perma scowls on their faces, they don't act in a manner that deserves a tip, so don't waste your money. They have favorite customers that they single out for God knows what reasons; their faves never shower, are terminally broke so they live on hand outs, oh yeah - they play in a *band* Who doesn't?! LMAO. I stopped going to bars/pubs where they dish out nothing but abuse. I shudder when I think of how much money I wasted on $2 drink tips. They never even thanked me, let alone put me first because they "remembered how well I tip. Live and Learn.

You are a bartender.

Not an astronaut, not a doctor, not a lawyer or anything of REAL importance. Remember that the next time you pour a drink.
