Unable to have children

I'm in my mid-twenties and have no desire to have kids right now but I always knew that one day I would. I've always believed that being a mother was in my destiny (as cheesy as that sounds). Recently I found out that I can not have any biological children and have spent the last few weeks wrapping my head around that reality. Now that I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that my body has something so wrong with it that it can't even do something it was meant to. The newest fear with a vice on my thoughts is that what kind of man would want to be a woman who couldn't give him a baby? I find myself constantly reminding myself that not being able to have kids doesn't make me any less of a woman but I don't know if I could ever convince anyone else of this.

I am a man who had a vasectomy. Everyone feels differently about procreating.

There are definitely guys out there who don't want to gave kids. I'm sure there are even single father's out there with kids who can use a caring mother figure. Keep your head up, you have a lot of value! Woman aren't only breeding vessels.

Parenthood...

Is highly over rated, just take a walk through Safeway sometime. The idea of new mothers gleefully playing in the isles with their beautiful children while shopping, couldn't be further from reality.

The truth is, these women are tired, their fed up with having to talk 'child talk' for hours on end, they're probably sorry for having children in the first place. They're tired of watching their children eating chocolate pudding like little retards.

Have you ever noticed how new mothers seem to group with each other after the birthing thing? That's fucking weird in and of itself. It's almost like they need to convince each other that bearing children was the right thing to do, so they hang out together. Weird.

As a guy? I will never want a child. I'm sure there are many other men that feel the same. We are hard to come by though, there are more stupid men out there, then smart ones. It will be a challenge for you to find free thinkers like myself.

There are a lot of guys out there who don't plan on having children. It's not the 50's anymore - times are changing.

You just convinced me. Not all of us are so determined to leave a genetic legacy.

Or eager to make a lifelong, open-ended, undefined commitment. Or happy to sink $300K+ into raising the little blighters to 18, and still more after that. Or want to spend the time. Or impose another source of stress on our relationships, families, partners and ourselves.

There is no shortage of children in the world. Biology is no obstacle to parenthood anymore.

Perhaps your destiny is to be productive in ways other than genetic. At least until stem-cell-based in-vitro reproduction and gestation become available.

Hope you find your way.

You seem to imply that the sweeping, judgemental generalizations and half-baked hypotheses based on lazy observations made in grocery stores that form your world view make you more intelligent

There is nothing "wrong" with your body. Having children isn't what you are "meant" to do. The varieties of human experience are many and diverse. Might be time to revisit your thinking.

not a factor for love

people want someone who they get along with, who love them, there are lots of options for child rearing so im sure that will be a small hiccup as to how anyone feels towards you.it won't be a factor. i know tons of adopted children who's mother couldn't have kids and it never affected the marriage.

I'm also a woman in her mid-20s dealing with the exact same feelings. I'm sorry I don't have any words of comfort to offer you because I haven't found any for myself either yet. But just know you're not alone.
