Codeine blues

I am a middle aged privileged well educated/employed male with a secret. I am super wired on codeine. The best part of sports is sports injuries. The best part of sports injuries is dilaudid. Now dillies are hard to get legit but boatloads of codeine are just a script away. I suppose that I am grateful for this middle class jam as opposed to having a heroin or fent/oxy problem. God knows that if I could I would. Just a little too street for me.....smiles hey

But folks like you, are the reason folks like me (who have legitimate long term scripts for opiods and are not addicted, just dependent on them for quality of life) face such scrutiny in the health care system and from the general public. You do you, I just had to share my point of view.

I was a substance abuser for 40 years - now clean for 5 ... it was actually easy when I was able to finally turn my eyeballs inside out and take an honest look at myself ... I was an incredibly stubborn person so If I can turn my life around anyone can. I learnt to use the words 'Try Hard' as a mantra whenever I was challenged ... I still often use that mantra ... Sending you positive intentions.
Redemption Song (Bob Marley)

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery,
None but our self can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Some say it's just a part of it,
We've got to fulfill de book.

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have,
Redemption songs,
Redemption songs,
Redemption songs.

Don't you just fall asleep on those? Also don't they bung you up? I can think of far more interesting drugs to abuse. LSD comes to mind. Or have you have a good meth binge lately? Hehe.

I'm not so understanding about this

I'm lucky not to need opiates. But I do require concerta (which is a form of Ritalin) for ADHD. There is no quality of life when you can't think straight. In addition to dealing with the persistent myth that ADHD doesn't exist- it does, and it's as bad and as real as the chronic depression I also have- I deal with doctors and pharmacists that treat me like a criminal.

And it's because of people like you, who abuse the system, that people who suffer from real illnesses struggle for access to their medication.

But I'm not clear on whether you use these medications just for the fun of it- or if you're actually addicted.

If you are, it would be best to get treated for the addiction now before it escalates. If it's really a problem, it will shift into heroin territory. It won't be within your conscious control. Opiates are dangerous as fuck when abused.
