If you make noise constantly

I think you are a bad neighbour if you sand your boards, patio furniture, more boards, more furniture for months and months. Illegal reno and who knows what else but after 4 months of you using your little palm sander to do the work... sanding for hours and hours, day after day...a teaser break of a week or so...then right back at it. Time for you to go on vacation again so we can enjoy peace and quiet in our neighbourhood again.

I completely understand.

One house was torn down literally beside me and then rebuilt. Just a short few months later the party house two doors down on the other side of my house was torn down and rebuilt. I am happy to report that the second house was finished over summer and now minor things need to be looked at. I heard bob cats, table saws, hammering, yelling for two years give or take.

Power tools can be used til 8pm but I wish it were til 6..7 at the most. When you get home from work I don't want to hear power tools being used. I also feel that construction work should be prohibited on weekends unless emergency repair is needed of course.

You'd hate my neighbours

Air-conn running 23 hours per day, initially measured at a level of at least 58 dB (55 is daytime limit, 45 is night time limit).

Once it goes on, it stays on, even when it's 17°C outside. Must be set to a temperature of "refrigerator". In winter, when indoor temp is 17°, the furnace goes on.

It runs with doors and windows open so it'll never, ever shut off, all summer long.

Can hear it in the house with doors & windows closed.

Can hear it in front yard although it's in the back, roughly centre of house. USED to be able to hear it out on the street!

Day after day, week after week, month after month go by.

CoV has been entirely unhelpful in dealing with it.

Why couldn't I get at least one inspector with the attitude that once gave Van the rep of "No Fun City" -- that of just looking for excuses to shut down stuff (and a thorough knowledge of the by-laws)?

I'll only mention that the air-conn is but one of the loud noises they vomit across the property lines -- kids shouting & screaming, mom returning it, inescapable basketball noise through to the farthest corners of the house.

People across the street find them "too noisy!"

The guy in the alley behind our house thinks he's building a boat. I'm pretty sure he just enjoys using circular saws all goddamn day. I had to go tell him he wasn't allowed to do that on a Sunday. Now that's the only day where that dentist drill sound doesn't just start up out of nowhere. I silently hate that guy and his stupid "boat".
