Not Voting is a Vote

Here is a thought, maybe the low participation rate is because a good segment of the population view ALL the political parties as corrupt, lying, self serving sociopaths who will promise anything to get into power. Not voting is a direct vote of "No confidence" in the entire system for many. Make voting Mandatory if you will but then add a "none of the above" field to the ballot, thats what most of them deserve.

Actually, Not Voting is a Vote, your notion has one large undeniable underpinning...crass, self-serving laziness.

Ya, they're all bums so why bother?

Sorry Jimmy Boy, but laziness has nothing to do with it, and the attempt through insults to make people conform to your views, sorry it's a fail.

BTW, You would make a great politician....

Lazy has nothing to do with it? Sure, that's why our streets have no trash and everyone cleans-up after their dog. But you be that way and let the responsible citizens deal with it.

Trash and Dogs? Interesting connection when talking about politics, your mind sure wanders Jimmy!

Vote every 4 years for a Slick PR groomed election campaign and then at the end of every term wondering why you were lied to, rinse and repeat.

The onus needs to be turned on its head, If the political parties can't engage the citizenry, then where does the problem really lie?

Happy voting!

Just saying if people are voting for voting to be mandatory then just vote for a communist leader & be led - why not? Not saying don't vote - yes get out there & vote but do it because it is what you wish to do - cause every1 knows(or should know) that gov't are not going to solve every1s problems & whatever party any1 votes for is never going to be the best 1s but it's better than nothing - so yes go out & vote... But don't vote communist ;-)
