Family Day

Last year I didn't go to work on Family Day because I didn't think it should be up to The Corporation to decide which days are and are not holidays.

Good on you person! It is amazing how people turn into competitive rats in a race when they work for a company.
You didn't show up, and hopefully, spent time with your family. I respect that. I respect you.

it's a statutory holiday, as determined by the government. the rules around it are defined by the government. if the Corporation wants you to work, they have to follow the rules set by the government. if you're not happy about the way things are, blame the government, not the Corporation.
