I'm convinced that heaven and hell co-exist on the Earth we live and walk upon. Some of us live like Phil Collins' "Just Another Day In Paradise", others of us endure random suffering at the hands the of the sands of the dark forces for lengths of time I cannot even fathom. For those who say, 'it's apart of God's divine plan' or 'Satan is behind the works', well jee, such nice folks eh? Who the fuck on the recieving end of the suffering stick asks to be raised in a home where you're raped and molested by family, or to placed in schools where you're beaten within an inch of your life based on the colour of your skin and your mother tongue? Who asks to be thrown into gas chambers and ovens because ignorant paranoid idiots happen to be suspicious of them? In my homeland, girls have been murdered by their older brothers because she lost her virginity before (arranged) marriage, they dared to fall in love and that disgrased the honour of the family. The Syrians, Iraqis, Lebanese, neutral Israelis, Palestinians, on the underside of the bombs in the sky. The poor souls who died on the street last night from the cold and disease. The countless diagnosed with terminal cancer two months before their dead at 51. The examples are bottomless. I just don't get it. All of the above while others of us get in a hissy fit over not enough pumpin spice on our lattes or which colour coats our dogs should wear for their 2000th Instagram selfie of the morning? Life can be beautiful for those of us who manage to break free; but, life also sure can be cruel for far to many more. Every day I count my lucky stars that I've got a good life and that I keep it to myself. When I wake up in the morning, I can tell you that a smile on my face means more than any other luxury in the world.
