Magical Thinking

I'm fairly certain I have mild schizo-ocd and I don't know who I can talk to. My doctor has no recommendation and doesn't take it seriously because there are so many severe cases they have to deal with, but I am very afraid this is going to get worse. I can handle daily tasks to a degree, but I am extremely weird as I go about it, emotional with convoluted thinking and occasionally out of it. I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep it up and am in alot of mental anguish.

Your doctor is an idiot. Good for you for wanting to reach out, and get help. It takes courage. You can get a referral through your family doctor or walk in clinic for a psychiatrist( make sure you feel comfortable with whoever you do find to talk to and if they also do psychotherapy as many are med based only) call a local crisis line for resources and info as well as feeling heard in the interim. Canadian mental health association is one place you can start. Good luck!

See another doctor. That's just inexcusable. Congrats to you for being strong enough to seek support.

you need a new doctor. Even go to a walk-in clinic until you find someone who takes this seriously. There are a lot of helpful resources out there.

is 811. Just those three numbers. They can probably give you the numbers of places that would be helpful. Also the crisis line - it is not just for emergencies, it's for anyone who just feels they need to talk or ask questions. If you google Vancouver crisis line, there are different numbers for different situations, even an online youth or adult chat line.
