Single in the City

I've been a single male in this city for the past year and dating is an interesting affair. I constantly see posts about women wanting a guy who is similar to me, but then my reply to them never comes back. So I'm going to try something new. Recently I won two tickets to a VSO plus a free dinner a nice downtown hotel. I would like to take a female to this and make a night of it. I might be an old school punk but Beethoven's 9th is one of my favs and I would like to take a woman out to show her a good time with the possibility of it turning into something else. Currently I don't have a girlfriend or anyone in the wings so I though I would put posters up in the downtown area asking for a date with an email address to reach me it. I have no idea what sort of reaction I'll get, I'm not trying to be creepy or weird, just meet someone for a potential relationship.

You should post on I Saw You. I doubt anyone would give their e-mail address on an anonymous forum, just as you didn't post yours. Some people will be intrigued, some people will be hesitant. I personally only date people I meet in person for safety reasons. But others are more adventurous. Good luck! Oh, and nothing prevents you from going outside, and ask someone out with your free tickets and dinner.

Online has too many options and i've seen some of the same women on there for months/years (scary!!) I had an account in 2012 and stopped. Then tried again in 2014 and saw some of the same people on there.. So yea, it's the city for sure. Good luck because anything helps and it's great that you're expanding your dating horizons :)

I tried something similar a few years ago, which got me my 15 minutes of reality-show-like fame in this town. The only problem: the guy stood me up! But if there's dinner involved, I don't think you'll get stood up. You might get a freeloader...or not. Who knows? Good luck!

Put up something on the "old school" dating sites and let the interested parties from Confessions find you! And by interested, I mean me. :)

How about a good local or not local newspaper? Not sure if they have the dating type advertisements any more. My Sister met her husband who is an amazing man that way many years ago. Before the internet. She was tired of not having someone in her life and wrote a heartfelt message. The letters went to a postbox for privacy, she read through and found her soul mate. It is the most romantic love story I know and I cried at the wedding. They are still married and very happy. Good Luck Cupid.
