My Cat

licks my face. He usually does this when I'm on the couch and trying to read. Well the other day, just as an experiment, I licked his face back. And, we both didn't like it very much. It was the funniest thing ever to see his expression on his cute little face, though. I ended up giving him a treat for his troubles and made myself some tea after rinsing out my mouth. Not going to try that again.

By licking he is showing and telling you that you belong to him, sort of affection..
Licking him back is an act of defiance-hence he didn't like it much..

Hahahaha I love this confession.

My cat licks my face and hands too, never tried licking back, don't want to. I just give face rubs. But thanks for trying it out and sharing the results!

Hahaha this was hilarious!!! I have the funniest visual in my head with you looking at the cat, doing it, and the cat giving you a wtf look and perhaps a smack with its little paw. lol. Also, did your cat stop licking you??

Thanks everyone for enjoying my confession and the lovely comments. No, my cat has not stopped licking my face, rubbing against my leg, head-butting me in the stomach, smelling my shoes, or any of the assortment of feline behaviours that I've experienced when I'm home with him. I imagine I can now better relate to having hairballs...
