6 years later and I still love this person. Everyone would say to just get over it. Well, I can't seem to.

If they were a big part of your life-and even if they weren't-we don't just stop loving people. If you really loved someone, you will always love them. And that's ok. Moving on doesn't mean turning your feelings off like you turn faucets off. You just accept that they aren't in your life for whatever reason. Make peace with the fact. You sound like you have great capacity for love. I wish you the best.

Get over it ..........not a kind statement. Time does not heal wounds. Love is always in your heart. It will get easier. Sending you a hug. It is never wrong to love. Just try if you are able to stay open to a new love. In my experience...............that is what helps heal.

No, time does heal, I think its the new patterns, but especially the new perspectives we gain with time. such as : this wasn't so much a missed opportunity as a much as a lesson for both of us.
When I think of the person I was heart broken over, I feel fondly for them and see us as friends from afar but I don't have any romantic inclinations for them now and am happy they're happy with someone (because I helped build them up to be that great, yeah mofo). You may continue to love the person, or you should start to hate them, but if you can evolve your perspective of your relationship from a romantic one to something else, that would probably be nice. Although, I don't know how to do that.
