Being open is the best

Awhile ago I posted on here that I had a crush on my friend. A lot of people gave really positive and helpful comments. I just wanted to update you all: I finally told him 2 weeks ago! However, he didn't share the feelings. This was a bit of an ego-blow, but i was surprised to realize that the immense feeling of pride I got at overcoming my fear of telling him outweighed the sting of rejection...and we are still great friends and have hung out a lot since with nothing weird, and my feelings have pretty much subsided now that I know that it's one-sided. So, I guess I just wanted to encourage people to be open! It feels so good, and then you don't have to wonder anymore. I think the wondering would have been much more damaging than the rejection. just my two cents!

brave and mature. I admire you not taking the rejection personally... it sounds like you have both a rock-solid friendship with this guy and a refreshing sense of self-worth. Well done :)
