That's lovely and I hope you share the sentiment with your spouse, who will probably reciprocate wholeheartedly. We all feel hard to love at some point, some of us for brief moments, some for a lifetime, and sometimes we are. We're human. We're not built to live bump-free. It's a beautiful thing to find someone who realizes their own flaws and consequently doesn't expect perfection from their partner, either. Even better when they are appreciative of their partner's understanding and support during those times when we feel like total dicks.
I myself have felt so unloveable for so long that the idea of being something of worth to another human being has become all but some vague daydream at this point. I may have started thinking of others as perfect and expecting that they are looking for only the same.
Your post reminded me that we all feel that way sometimes, and that I can offer someone all my love and my great appreciation for their love, at the very least.
