I totally understand your frustration. My neighbor does her workout right above me. Every night at exactly 5:30 pm, I listen to her "tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap", like she's running on the spot. Then it's jumping jacks time, "tap thud, tap thud, tap thud, tap thud". Then it sounds like carrot chopping time, "chop chop chop chop chop chop". You can set your watch by it.

Maybe someone cleaning up a crime scene? I'm not even kidding. Apparently Jeffery Dahmer's neighbors complained about him using power tools in his apartment during the night, but it was never investigated.

I rent in the Olympic Village. Unfortunately, my bedroom window is just a few feet away from that of my neighbour's, a sweet , little old lady of about 80, who snores like a drunken lumberjack ! Sometimes it sounds like she's choking a pig .
She doesn't have a clue, I'm sure, and I don't see the point in mentioning it to her. I sleep with my window closed, with a fan blowing on me. If I have to, I'll get earplugs.
She bakes cookies for everybody at Xmas. She's 80, she'll be dead soon. I'll never tell her how disruptive she is at night.

Unless they do it ALL the time. As for "Jesus", well it must be nice if you live somewhere with such amazing soundproofing that someone vacuuming wouldn't be heard! The reality is that even high-end condos are usually built with the least amount of insulation the developers can get away with. I lived in a luxury (so said them anyway) condo where I could hear the guy below me taking a pee and virtually every single grunt when he was having sex. Ick. So yeah, the majority of us now are forced to live in rabbit warren conditions and the stress on everyone is through the roof. What I find though is that so many people, instead of trying to be more considerate, are becoming less. As if an "I don't give a damn" attitude is the answer. Makes everyone angry at each other and we're really all in the same boat, right?
