work for those who aren't qualified to do anything

I don't know why I bother to look at job ads, since I'm not qualified for any of the jobs I see posted, I haven't updated my resume in probably over a year, and I don't have references I can count on (last employer was less than impressed when I had to leave suddenly for health reasons). What kind of job can someone like me even get? I've applied for fast food before, but never heard back. I've had no income at all in a couple months now, since I'm on PWD and the ministry is fucking me around.

Go and work for one of those labour ready places, they will put you to work, suitable for your abilities.

In the long term, instead of saying things like "what kind of job can someone like me even get?"

why don't you say something to yourself like "what can I do for myself so that I can get a good job"

I am in a good place in life, however I worked my way up from the bottom, through work experience and education to build my skills and knowledge.

Luck comes to those who work for it.

Fake it

I think faking it is what the foundation of success is today you just need the right clothing, hair and make-up and some choice words - cliches work pretty well. I respectfully disagree that luck comes from working hard. My spouse worked his ass off and he didn't get luck he got sick. Enjoy what every day life has to offer as every day life is the most precious gift we have. Birds, wind, a sunny day, rain on the face, kids laughing, old people holding hands, this is what life really is about.

Those places are only suitable for people who can do manual labour. That's not me.

I need a job now, not after the amount of time it takes to get the training necessary for a particular kind of job. Never mind that I've already got a bachelor's degree and a community college certificate.
