In January Translink forced us to use this stupid compass card system and I detest it. I'm tire of Translink lying to me/us about what they are doing/going to do. I've had enough. I said it in January and now I'm going to follow through. I am now in the market to buy a new vehicle and I cannot wait until the day comes where I can return my stupid blue card and get my $6 back from those Translink assholes. I will soon have freedom when I go out and not have to follow a bus schedule. I may not get a vehicle in the next month or three months but it will happen. Fuck you Translink. I'm putting another car on the road. Try and stop me.

What's so horrible about Compass? You tap your card. The end. Joke's on you if you think owning a car is going to be any cheaper or more hassle free.

Buy used.
Plenty of good cars for $1000-1500,use the web,if you are a good driver insurance will be $80 or so a month. Or pick up a $500 car.

My home to work on transit is 45 minutes in the morning and 55-60 in the afternoon.Plus I have to stand up on the way home through two zones,in a hot and or damp bus. Plus walking to transit, my daily commute would be 2+ hours.

In my car,my morning commute is 17 minutes and evening is 25. Air con,my music,no smelly people, and my every winter colds and flus? Don't get them any more.

45 minutes vs 2+ hours.

Can go places,shop,go places without it taking 4 hours on transit.

it's great for getting home after a few drinks,but for me it's a waste of time and money.

What I don't like about this system is that if I don't have a compass card... I buy a paper ticket on the bus and I can't use it on the train and have to pay for another ticket... this is the part I call highway robbery...
