I could get paid to write full-time, and work from anywhere in the world. I'm trying, but the road is very long, but my patience....not so much!

If you want to write for a living your post should have moved me in some way. It did not. Look at every opportunity to write as if it's a resume...
Make people want to read what you write.
Use passion, eloquence, wit.

no way, i think your writing is on point, but it doesn't matter what others think; suggestions are only for consideration. You can do it! either take a journalism program ( langara has a great one) or send your writing in to anything you can. Internet tourism, interesting articles, filler web page stuff and topical paragraphs are all in demand. it is a great time to strike. Start trying, eventually it might end up being full-time work.

You know, all the best writers have had careers of their own that inspired their works. Chekhov and Doyle were doctors, Tolkien was a soldier/professor, countless crime authors worked as cops, forensic pathologists, lawyers, etc.
Being a writer is a very common dream, so you need to distinguish yourself in some way.
