Stupid ignorant neighbours in Poco. Pick up YOUR rotting fruit. Or else !.

I live only a mere few blocks away, from where that innocent ten? year old girl was attacked by a protective Momma Bear. I've seen bears pass by neighbourhood COUNTLESS times over my 38 years in this city. It's a sight unseen, at a SAFE distance ☺, I've seen way to many to count. With school almost back in session, winter just around the corner the Bears are trying to fatten up, I am not only ashamed but also totally infuriated by the pure ignorance of my fellow neighbours. Upon taking my fur babies for their walks, I've noticed countless mindless and LAZY neighbours that, for some unknown reason, refuse to CLEAN UP THEIR ROTTING FRUIT. It's NOT just garbage that bears are after. I can't be bothered with knocking on people's doors and reminding people to clean up their shit !. But I WILL take the initiative and be sure call the damn city to report this inexcusable bullshit. People should just be more responsible, otherwise YOUR stupidity could cost a innocent life.

I should probably add a stupid fucking smilie face or maybe a winkie face to get the point home, but I'm more than 13 years old, so I won't.

Print out a bunch of small notes to your neighbours or knock on their doors. Don't be rude or anything. Let them know that you noticed that they don't pick the fruit from their trees and there is a bear problem in the neighbourhood.

Let them know that the Food Bank has volunteers that will pick the fruit from their trees. A third of the fruit goes to the Food Bank, a third goes to the volunteer and the last third goes to the owner of the tree (if the owner does not want the fruit - they can have the volunteer give the remaining third to the Food Bank as well).

Gives you a chance to say "Hi" let them know (in a nice way that there is a problem) and have a solution that benefits society. :) ;)

(I added the smiley and winky face - as a sweet nod to 'Downvoted for use of emoji" - I am 32 years over the age of 13 ....

Report them to a Conservation Officer

I think the fine starts at $350 for leaving Bear attractants about your property.

I used to live in the same neighbourhood. There's not many fruit trees left as the condos take over the houses. I think the bigger part of the problem is the amount of garbage people leave on the beaches by the river. It is a sea of Budweiser, pork rinds & used syringes down there. Loved the neighbourhood but hated most of the Neighbours.

Actually the real problem is that humans think they can move into an area where bears live and the bears will be okay with that. What do you do when rats move into your house??? Thought so!!!
