dropping your weight

Guy at Hillcrest gym drops his deadlift bar with 6 plates on it. If it's too heavy to put down then you shouldn't be lifting so heavy. Also fuck you it's loud! Also, waits 10 minutes in between his ONE rep (technically half a rep) so others around can't use the equipment. Confession: the next time you are there dropping your bar I'm going to tell on you! nah nah nah boo boo

he's elite. almost anyone who can lift that heavy drops their deadlifts. Why risk injuring your back with 585 lbs bouncing off the descent. any other lift it's an asshole move, deadlift not so much. and he waits 10 minutes between his sets because he needs too.

Community centre gyms are not the place for the 'roid boys.
That's exactly the kind of attitude that keeps many Seniors, Women and Newbies from accessing public facilities.
Wiping down and sharing equipment is SOP in public facilities. The VPB has a history of illegal drug dealing and gang affiliation in some of it's fitness centres, if you don't believe me check with senior fitness staff about the problems they've had.
If the station or weights are sitting idle they're anyone's to use.
Filing a complaint with the VPB about the excessive noise is your right plus there's usually signs posted that dropping weights or not stripping down bars is prohibited. I've seen it plenty of times at HRP and MPCC when some muscle head leaves multiple plates loaded only for some geriatric to unload before they can do their own workout.

...used to teach a "one max rep" theory of bodybuilding so low rep sets could be part of his deal.

That said, it's not considerate. Hillcrest is a small, crowded gym. He should be at Gold's if he wants to train as a serious powerlifter

Then go join Trevor Linden or Steve Nash and leave the real lifters at alone at the Community Center Gyms to do their thing. There are very few places as it is that allow them to do what they do.

Just so you are away, strength training and powerlifting are growing by leaps and bounds.
