Car Share drivers are hateful

First, they don't know how to drive worth s***. Second, they steal all the free parking that is so clearly lacking in this city (even though they can technically park anywhere else).

they drive like they are still on their bike! would use a crosswalk to turn if they could get away with it!.
Also about parking : it's changed the spacing of parking spaces and leaves no room for a regular car.

None of the points you raise have anything to do with being hateful.
they also hide the cars

in parkades for their convenience. They should be painted bright orange so that you know they are coming. Of course, their asininity pales to that of your average BMW driver.

They also drive crazily down the bike routes. Which makes me think they're cyclists the rest of the time, following habit.

Car sharing actually helps reduce the parking problem in this city. Many people sharing several cars require much fewer parking spots.

Please explain how one can steal something that is free.
Also "they can technically park anywhere else" is BS. Here are the actual rules:

Hateful, yes. Reckless, for sure. They're paying by the minute which explains this. Also most probably do not drive daily so probably not the savviest ones on the road. Not true about the parking - they're subject to the regular fines and penalties, and because they park cars and don't come back to the cars, meter parking and anything other than unlimited free/permit only spaces are out of the question.

Non-resident car-share drivers routinely occupy scarce Permit Parking Only spots denying many Elderly and Persons with Disabilities safe Access to their homes. At our bldg when drivers are asked to move they refuse.
If you call the City of Vancouver to complain they'll say it's not their problem. If you call the companies they'll tell you that the COV gave them the right to tie up as many PPO spots for as long as they want so screw off, empathy doesn't fit their business models.
The fact that car-share companies have few or zero vehicles that are Fully Accessible speaks volumes about who they care about. To no surprise car-share vehicles are popular with those who deal in illegal drugs and stolen goods which is part of the reason more taxicab licences have not been issued, protect market share.
Car-share vehicles with bike and ski racks, of course...having at least some of their fleets fitted with a carrier designed for scooters or wheelchairs, can't be bothered.
According to STATS BC and the COV 17% of Vancouver residents have some sort of Disability. The COV could have ensured that Persons with Disabilities were Equally accommodated before issuing permits to the companies and imposing their negative impacts on the Citizens of Vancouver but the fact is there were no consultations prior to car-sharing in Vancouver.
It's all part of Vision Vancouver's ongoing social re-engineering agenda and screwing over the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities ( as we see with plans for the 10th ave bike-route ) is one of the goals.
It's because of the increased parking competition from car-share vehicles that the COV wants to turn the single West End PPO into 3 different zones, more parking for their friends at the car-share companies.
As far as the City of Vancouver cares if that negatively impacts the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities who want to continue to live in the West End too bad, move to another city.
