I hope that you are not doing this to someone. How selfish and cruel.

do unto others as thou want done unto you... (who said this? Never Mind,,, Always Heart) ... letting go of someone (telling them to go away) for whom one doesn't care for or like may not be a wise course of action ... whomever is 'stringing people along' will only actually string their own life along, and not let themselves or others grow and move forward in life, wherever that leads ... either way, mirror of life returns what we do in unexpected/illogical ways: there is no right or wrong way, just path of pain and suffering, or path of joy and happiness, it is our choice really ... a friendly suggestion fron someone who esperienced much pain and suffering in short period of life and now wants and hoping for joy and comfort :) life is mysterious, therapy is great, healing is love, love is healing, tuum es amigo

This would only be a thing in today's era of narcissistic, self-entitled and arrogant idiots who don't care about anyone but themselves. If met someone like this, I think I would want to punch them in the throat.

Your ego is purposely hurting people. Think about that. What a waste of time and energy. A giant mindfuck and for what? It's more than boredom. It's become an addiction for you. Tease and tease and tease some more. To what end? Get on with your life and stop texting me.

Unfortunately familiar

I recently did that to someone... quite successfully so; as soon as the mission was accomplished, I got bored and now I'm moving on. I hope this next one is real. Pretty sure it is, the signs are good. I don't think it was intentional, mainly a kneejerk response to getting played with. Heck, I didn't even know that is what was going on until I read this well distilled articulation of the phenomenon. Cheers for that!

notice how everyone is quick to jump on you and accuse the OP of the said phenomenon, when maybe they are just pointing out that people do it to them.

Reading comprehension problems much? Wow, you are quick to jump on commenters. Only @Games assumed that OP was talking about him/herself. Everyone else was careful to use "if" and hypotheticals, never mentioning OP. Also, two people said they've done it or can relate, and one person called OP an inspiration.
