You are a massive turd sand which if you..

DONT TIP. WHO DOESNT TIP?? Everyone west side of the city. You come in and order 50 drinks for your boss and associate's at your film setup up the st, you pay with wads of 100's from an envelope. People leave because they realize your order will take forever. You leave no tip. Your friend and you are arguing "no i wanna pay! No me!" Over your $80 cafe bill. You leave no tip. You purchase $200 worth of burritos. You leave no tip. You had a great convo with the cashier, she tells you and your date the best cocktails and love music bar in the city. You plan to go there next, you leave her no tip. The cashier says he'll out your order above everyone else's because he thinks it'll be quick and understands you're on your break, even though everyone was there before you. You leave no tip. What is wrong with you people? When I get shitty service, I leave a shitty tip. But you bet your fans I'm tipping! OH- and leave your pennies out of tip jars. That's just plain rude. -sincerely, the working class whose wage is supposed to be covered by tips.

I was at the grocery store the other day, overhead the cashier talking about how his roommate, who works at _white spot_ makes 2x as much as he does, because of tips, for working half the hours. Sorry, not interested in helping that sort of person gild his lily.

Just so you know, twice what a grocery store clerk makes is barely $18-$20/hr to serve self entitled jerks ordering hamburgers. It's not like he's counting stacks of cash and laughing all the way to the bank. That's barely a living wage considering half the hours. Do the math before you judge other people. And yes, generally a serving shift is between 4-6 hours.

Seems to me that doing favours that screw over other customers is shitty service.

Tips

are the only reason people do those terrible jobs.

This isn't the states

You don't depend on tips to live. You knew the wage going in so don't rely on assholes who sometimes won't tip. Get a different job if it upsets you so much. PS. Who the hell has pennies anymore? I don't think kids even know what pennies are.

93% of the time they're Australian! Then they lie and say they're from New Zealand. DON'T EVER TELL THEM YOU HAVE A COUCH! or a sister!

Haven't we heard this song before?

Not so long ago too. I believe the general consensus was that tipping in places where there is no table service should not be expected. What you're describing sounds like that kind of place. Anyway, imo, the fault for low wages doesn't lie with the customers as much as it does the employers so you shouldn't be expecting the customer to pay extra for the food so you get paid better, because your wages are factored into the cost of the food already.

Yup

I shouldn't have to pay your wage. Complain to your employer not me (the customer). I'm trying to get by as well and I bet you make more than I do. I make minimum wage while trying to get a degree.
