It's nice that you desire to have someone to love you, but what value do YOU have to offer to others to justify them loving you, let alone giving you even a few seconds of attention?

Start by loving you. Think about your good qualities but also your bad. Do you think you could deal with those things in another person? If the answer is yes, great, someone else probably agrees. If the answer is no, do you think there's anything that could be done to make the bad easier to deal with? Could you work on some of your flaws? If so, work on those flaws that can be worked on. The ones that are just innate, remember that we're all human, no one is perfect. If the good outweighs the bad, and if you're constantly striving to improve, you're lovable flaws and all. Anyone who wants to love you will put in the work because they know your worth it. Don't reject that effort if you come across it, embrace it. Stay open to love and be receptive to someone believing in you in ways you don't know how to yet. Let them help show you that you can be loved. And let yourself love them, too.

You're confusing love w/ a quid pro quo.
