hey shrink

somehow I think I could be comfortable telling a therapist "i think i can time travel" or "i think i'm a squirrel" but not "I spend 6 hours a day rereading online posts hoping someone who hasn't spoken to me in years is thinking about me". But I can't time travel and I'm not a squirrel.

You should find better ways to spend your time. Focus on your current life; leave the past behind. There are great things to come in the future, I promise.

I certainly don't mean to be flippant but I've been giggling about time travelling squirrels since I've read this. Maybe the one from "Hot Tub Time Machine". Having a default setting of pragmatic realism seems like a stretch when seen to be over thinking something perhaps. Although the written word is fascinating especially how patterns can emerge and then thinking about the potentials and possibilities, cross that with a love bubble that hadn't been felt in what seems like eons...kind of impressive considering the duration. Is it wrong to wonder and think and dream? Sometimes there is concern because of how the innocent can introduce bad characters to the frey in times of frustration with narcissistic ex's if we go back in time. Time travel is a fascinating subject, the Nazi's had weird time travel experiments with a bell shaped object which I can only surmise came from their expeditions to Tibet where the Buddhists there practised a style called the Kalachakra in which the cycles of time are linked to the cycles of breath and there are many stupa's (bell shaped objects used for prayer and meditation I think) around. When we post about time travel, we post comic relief. Which we could link to hot tub time machine squirrels by saying that they are the only species other than man that can plan for the future. Memory patterns in squirrels seem pretty advanced given their size and nuts have shown to be super benificial for the heart. We could learn a lot from squirrels. Lifelong learning.
