Love him

My bf is the best! He's so sweet and treats me so well. However he's one of those "nice guys" and never really had a relationship before because of that he's got really low self esteem and needs constant reassuring that I'm not going to leave him. I don't want to leave him but it's just so draining to have to tell him all the time that I don't want to leave him. I wish he had more confidence, he'd go so much further in life if he had more confidence.

It's exhausting and ruins relationships. Tell him to shut the fuck up or you will leave. Maybe he'll get the point.

How long have you been dating? This behaviour is emotionally manipulative and a sign of psychological abuse. If you don't want to leave him now, at least keep it in your head that your boyfriend may well turn into your abuser, if he hasn't already. I dated a guy like that, ended up having to flee our home in the middle of the night, and five months later am still very much not okay as the full weight of all the ways he manipulated me becomes clearer with distance. Be careful.

Red Flag got burned and now she sees evil in the hearts of all men. Not all men are abusive to their partners. Her boyfriend likely suffers from depression. Just because he is needy doesn't mean he will turn into a monster. Get a grip.

Tell your boyfriend you love him but you cant be responsible for pumping his tires(self esteem). He needs to see a psychologist and deal with his issues.
