Sick of hate mongering

Why is it that it is still apparently okay for men to post on public websites absolutely hateful rhetoric about women? If people said the same type of hateful things about other races or LGBT people, there would be a huge outcry and even possibly charges, but men who post disgusting and hateful comments about femakes are allowed to do so with impunity. I can't believe that in 2017 things seem to be going backwards in terms of equality and protection for women! Boys routinely refer to girls as "ho's", "bitches", and "sluts", rape culture is glorified and encouraged, and any woman who dares to protest is immediately labeled as a militant feminist, with the word "feminist " being used as an insult. What a horrible world we are currently living in. I thought that by now we'd have come so much further, but instead the small minds are taking over. So very, very SAD.

Nah, plenty of people say hateful stuff about particular races, religions and/or LGBT people (especially trans people, and even more so trans women/ transfeminine people) and get away with it. I wouldn't say any of that is more taboo than misogyny. We've even got people claiming hating transfeminine people is a part of being a feminist. It's a fucked-up world we live in.

Huh?

Minorities and LGBTQ individuals are the target of lots of hateful comments all the time too. As a female, I cannot stand feminists like you who like to play the victim card and monopolize all attention on themselves while ignoring the plight of others. There is still much to be done but we have come a long way.

We were born of women not born out of a mans head. I have men in my life, not like those and I know a lot of men are nothing like loud mouthed bully's out there. I guess what I am saying is yes it looks hopeless, and well try to find love in life and find people who are not like that.

... rape culture.

Rape is obviously NOT ok in our society. Sure it happens, but the vast, vast majority of men abhore it, and a man who would brag about raping a woman would certainly not go over well in a group of men. Why do you think rapists and child abusers are segregated in prison. It's because they would get the shit kicked out of them.

Stop watching the tv networks and supporting the music and film labels that harbour the entertainers that make money off of promoting these sorts of ideas if you are truly mad at the "culture" you describe. Also stop drinking the booze and buying the cologne and perfumes and all the other things you love to buy that push these narratives through advertising too while you and everyone else is at it.

@huh? You are a troll

If you want to turn your mind away from the global statistics on exploitation and violence against a gender and children of a particular gender who are slaves, well stay in the land of fairy tales troll, because everything you wrote is so completely arrogant. Challenge a real bully for once like those perps, instead of a feminist, someone who believes in equality weather they are a feminist man or a feminist woman, or any woman who by your standards is so low an opponent. But I guess you are a coward, go for the easy prey, get on the rights payroll. Unlike the great young men and old men and generations of women who have helped by at the very least educating themselves and are not in denial of the very particular hate towards their sisters and mothers. If you are a woman as you say, which I challenge, then really what planet are you on, what informs your very hate filled ideas about women.

As a young man who likes men you really have strange friends. For all the privilege of your education and class and intelligence and oration skills, and even just being a hottie isnt enough attention is it? You for some reason have chosen your evil task of inciting hate, even though you are a Christian and a Catholic, and as you say a proponent for free speech. Well I dreamt we were married, that the bravado held a very fragile person underneath. That all the spew of objectification. materialism, and the cynical level of sstandards of beauty or identity, or worse the common conversation of the young gamer on their way to get chips at the store, the entire culture is adolescent, attention seeking and goes for the crudest taste. You have no balls otherwise you would be challenging the real bullies and not every woman who takes up any space at all. But you are cute Milo I will give you that.

When the label doesn't fit

Like all internet users, I've run into a lot of shitty attitudes and blanket condemnations. But it's interesting to see what the attacker is attacking.

When angry boys (presumably) attack feminism, they seem to be attacking female supremacy, the oppression of a gender, lack of free speech on campuses and the assumption that men are there to be exploited financially and are the guilty parties in any conflict.

Well, who wouldn't be mad at that?

Of course, what they are describing does not sound like feminism to me. It sounds like some sort of mad extremism that could conceivably be embraced by a fringe body but that doesn't sound like any women that I know personally.

Too much fake news! Sad!
