Cat call

I was sitting finishing my coffee and a woman was approaching when a guy across the street whistle's the traditional cat call. I could see her face, she worked up a vicious sneer and looked over. He was calling a friend, not her, he was waving at the guy when she looked over. I looked at her face and she looked seriously dejected. WTF? Can't wait to give a guy a dirty look but gets rejected and then is SAD? You can't have it both ways ladies. GET REAL.

Listen Mouthbreather, she probably felt guilty when she looked over and the cat call wasn't directed at her. She probably had mixed feelings of shame, guilt, fear, and sadness because she reacted automatically as you would if YOU were a woman and had experienced cat calling and every other form of sexual violence your entire natural life. This is probably the "one" time that it wasn't directed at her.

YOU need to GET REAL

Even IF you interpreted her emotions correctly, which I doubt, one lady does not equal all ladies. This is not a difficult reality to grasp. But coming from someone who stupidly believes that all women secretly want to be cat-called, I guess this isn't a surprise. GET REAL!

Projection , this is all in your head what you wanted to see and interpret.

Are you a mind reader?

Because you are making an awful lot of assumptions about what you "think" was going on in this woman's head. In other words you actually have no idea what she is was thinking or feeling. This is the literal definition on "mansplaining".

Interesting. This incident truly reveals the double standard that exists in women's attitudes towards men.

who has received catcalls many times over the years here in Vancouver. I mostly take it as a compliment and keep on walking. I have a hard time seeing the difference between a shout of appreciation on the street and a 'click' of appreciation from a stranger on social media. Equally as complimentary as it is creepy in either situation, if you ask me. Why take it to the next level with confrontation on the street, though? Just be thankful you still 'got it', smile and go on with your life.

I'm so lucky to be a gay man.

At least we know how to communicate with each other.
If a guy says " Woof..." to me, it's a compliment, and I can say "Woof..." right back if I want to. Or "Oink..." if I happen to be VERY interested.
What the hell, might even throw in a "Cocka- doodle- doo..." for good measure , just to see where it goes......
