I've been thinking of getting another cat, but in this city, I know that losing my rental will mean losing the cat. Besides, last one I had - half a dozen "helpful" neighbours were coercing with food.

Get a cat. Soon landlords won't be able to say no pets anyway.

How does one coerce a cat with food??
I get the part about worrying about losing your housing and not being able to find somewhere you can have a pet, but that coercion part has really got me puzzled.
